3 Thanksgiving Movies to Prep You for the Holidays
Today I want to talk about my personal top ten Thanksgiving movies to watch.
But so you all have any personal favorites? Do you celebrate Thanksgiving? What was your holiday experience like? Comment down below and share the post if you enjoyed it:
A Charlie Brown Christmas
This movie remains an unquestioned holiday classic 50 years after its debut, and everyone remembers Linus waiting on Halloween to get a glimpse of a certain jack-oâ-lantern in Itâs the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. But thereâs another Peanuts holiday special that has never seemed to garner the same level of love. We should all be a lot more thankful for A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, because itâs a touching tribute to one of Americaâs best days. Here are five reasons Charlie Brownâs turkey day special shouldnât be overlooked.
Quintessential Thanksgiving Factor: Watching Woodstock and Snoopy pull apart a wishbone and eat a piece of pumpkin pie together.
Best Quote: âI havenât even finished eating all of my Halloween candy!â â Sally Brown
The Blind Side
Writer and director John Lee Hancock (The Rookie) has adapted this true sports story from a book by Michael Lewis. Michael Oher now plays for the Baltimore Ravens and as we see in this inspirational story of his life, the source of his transformation is the love, appreciation, support, and counsel of his adoptive mother â Leigh Anne Tuohy. Sandra Bullock carries this film with her nuanced, emotionally powerful, and compelling performance. Her experience illustrates a key spiritual lesson: giving to others reverberates back to the giver, deepening and enriching her life. The film also challenges us redefine the meaning of family values.
The Blind Side is an unabashedly feel-good movie, and it deserves a large and attentive audience. Hancock again signals to us that engaging sports stories can deliver spiritual messages that speak to all of us.
Quintessential Thanksgiving Factor: Loving, and humble movie that you can watch with the whole family!
Best Quote: âAny fool can have courage. But honor, thatâs the real reason for you either do something or you donât. Itâs who you are and maybe who you want to be.â Quinton Aaron
Garfieldâs Thanksgiving
So there arenât many Thanksgiving classics, or even much modern specials or movies out there. With A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, Garfieldâs Thanksgiving is one of the few cartoons (special or even movie) honoring the holiday, so if you want a holiday special youâre this is a great option.
Garfieldâs Thanksgiving is a rather nice episode that feels a lot like the Garfield cartoon.
Best Quote: âDo you see that, Odie? Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. Thatâs the day people celebrate having food by eating as much of it as possible! Yes, thatâs the day people try to eat every turkey, pumpkin and cranberry on the face of the earth. Itâs a tradition. And you know how I LOVE tradition!â
